On March 14th 2:00AM, the National Intelligence and Security Services known as NISS, Cracked down Jalila Khameis Koko house in Khartoum , and arrested her in front of her family member and relative IDPs from Nuba mountains, she had been hosting in her house . Jalila is 45 years old Nuba woman, she is member of SPLM/N and very active in the women NGOs in Sudan, she work as teacher in the unti illtiracity program in Khartoum. Jalila is from Katcha village in Buram locality, Nuba mountains/South Kordofan state. Her work with IDPs from the conflict region in south Kordofan has helped many IDPs to reach for some aid and humanitarian support which had been blocked from them by the Khartoum government since the war erupted in the area.  Until the day she had been arrested she had been hosting 20 IDPs from her village in her house.

The NISS kidnapped Jalila while she was at home with her sleeping clothes, her husband told Arry that    “they just kidnapped her in seconds when we got outside the house they were already left”. Jalila didn’t have any access to a lawyer and her husband and family were not able to see her. The NISS told her huspand that they are detaining her for helping the IDPs from Nuba mountains, and being a member of the SPLM/N which an enemy to the state.

In the past month the NISS has started aggressive campaign against the Nuba activists, especially in Khartoum, reports from Khartoum slums pointing to numerous arbitrary disappearance and arbitrary arrests. The Sudanese National security Services had raided houses of another activist working on the Nuba Mountains issue last February. Arry Organization report about the Nuba Mountains Crisis documented the constant fear all Nuba people live through every not just inside Nuba mountains, but in all Sudan.

Arry calls on the Sudanese Government to urgently release Jalila Khameis Koko, and allow her family to visit her, also we call on the local and international organization to work to stop the ethnic discriminating treatment the Nuba people live through inside the Sudan’s territory, even out Nuba mountain /south Kordofan state where the fighting actually take place between the SPLM/N and the GoS.
